Look, I've had many various Titleist clubs in the past and I've really enjoyed them all. Vokey SM5, SM6, and SM7's have all been in the bag, 816/818 hybrids, 917 driver and 3W (in fact the 3W was still in the bag as of 2 weeks ago), several Scottys, etc., but I've never had a full blown set top to bottom until now (minus the putter).

I'd converted the top end of my bag to PXG and Cally wedges earlier this spring, TM irons last fall. Things have been fairly solid. I went from a 13 last fall to a 7.6 currently, but I can tell you, it wasn't because of my equipment. So I felt a change was necessary and I actually went to four different fittings at three different places. Yes, it may have been overkill, but with all the different options out there right now with head and shaft combos, I wanted to make sure I was doing what was best for me and my game.

Three different iron fittings identified the T200 (5-GW) as my iron of choice with a T300 4 iron to help with forgiveness there. 2° weak on the T300 and 1° weak through the rest of the set to get to slightly more traditional lofts and adjust the offset slightly for my liking. My dynamic loft was around 2° flat, so the fitter had me humor him and put me into Project X 5.5 shafts 0.5" longer than standard to offset that 2° flat and it was magic. Gave me a little more ball speed and distance without swinging any harder and I'm hitting it straighter than ever.

As I said above, I absolutely loved the 917F2. Everything about it was great for me, weight, swingweight, you name it. I'd had some luck with the Project X HZRDUS Smoke Yellow and Black shafts in the top end of the bag this year, so I ordered a TSi3 9° driver and then TSi2 15° and 18° fairway metals, because I hit those better it seems like. No hybrids in the bag for the first time since 2010. The Smoke Black RDX shaft is a GREAT shaft, but I needed a little tighter dispersion, so I took those three to Club Champion for a retrofit and went into the new Diamana-TB series and again, magic. They're weighted exactly to the specs of the 917F2 I had (which has the stock Diamana red shaft in it) and it has been a game changer. While I was there for that visit, we checked the gapping from the fairway metals into the T-series setup and they flowed really well.

I've been happy with my Cally wedges this year, but I wanted to check out the SM8's again (they did not work well for me in the spring, but that was more of a swing issue than equipment) and lo and behold, I ended up getting a set of those as well in brushed steel (54.12 D and 58.12 D bent 1° strong to gap with my T200 GW that I had weakened to 49°).

I know this is a lot of information and honestly, who cares what I'm playing or using, right? I'm not a pro, I don't get paid to push clubs or anything to anyone. But I wanted to share my experiences. Unless you walk out of a fitting TOTALLY and COMPLETELY satisfied, it doesn't hurt to check some other options. It took 3 iron fittings for me to get that satisfaction. I learned something different from all three. My first one tweaked my lies in my then set of TM P790 to 2° upright and told me to stand pat, my second one was where I fell in love with the T200, but fit me into a set of JPX 921 and my third one got the shaft and irons correct.

And the other misconception is that where one brand of clubs isn't always best throughout the bag. Another company's wedges might fit best for you along with another company's irons and etc. I subscribed to that. But don't be afraid to try all and every option out there and if it turns out everything fits and works best for one company, go with it.

People, I have seen the light. These clubs are legit and Titleist has done a wonderful job maximizing everything you need out of each part. The driver sounds, looks, and feels incredible. The fairway metals and irons fly true and pure and have all the forgiveness you could want. And the wedges, my goodness the wedges.

They just keep getting better and better.

Sorry about the rant and thanks for reading (if you still are). Thanks Titleist!

Looks like you're dialed in Ty. My 917F2 (Speeder shaft) will never leave my bag. A real rocket launcher...lol

I have that set up as well along with the 917D2 with the speeder shaft. My hybrids have the Motore speeder shafts, also. Those Fujikura shafts are awesome, Deno.

The 917F2 has 100% been the best club in my bag. I could find just about any fairway I wanted with it and it's always been extremely reliable. I'd just seen too many things about the new TSi metals. They're unbelievable. I'm not just saying that because it's a Titleist page. They're so good.

If you haven't done so already, I'd say it's about time for a new Titleist bag to carry all those beauties! What's a few more bucks? ;-)

Already talked to my pro about a Tour Staff Bag. Lol. Never had one with my name on it, so since I'm pretty much a Titleist staffer now, I might as well, right?

I've actually got a Sun Mountain cart bag and a Vessel stand bag (both in black), so the Tour one should look great right beside them.

    Thanks guys!
