I'm thinking about playing the DG Tour Issue shafts on my CB's next year and I would like to have feedbacks from people that played these shafts in the past...

    Cheshire,

    hi max

i have been playing s400 dg tour issue shafts for about a year now in my 710 cbs and now in my 710 mbs

i can see why they are so popular on tour as they are amazing shafts.

they are very heavy but i love that about them i think they are about 133 grams and are so workable when wanting different ball flights. i got them as i have a high ball flight and wanted it lower and they work a treat for me as i can hit it high and low at will now they are a bit more expensive but well worth it i cant reccomend them enough and i will always play them in my irons

i live in the uk and could not get them from titleist uk in my mbs which i got in july even though i got my cbs fitted with them at the begining of the year from titleist uk so had to get them from the usa at a cost of $20 a club strange considering they are a option in the uk catalogue dont understand that but hey they are worth it for me

    hope that helps regards john

    Thanks John!!!!

do you see big difference between the cb's and th mb's? I'm playing up to scratch ,but I'm not sure I can hit the mb's well on a regular basis...

Oh no, not the cb vs blade argument.

I use 962's with DGS300, I don't have any Titleist blades, never hit Titleist blades, so I couldn't compare Titleist blades to Titleist cb's.

If you got to scratch playing cb's, ask yourself, what do you need to do that you can't do with the cb's.

BTW blades won't help your putting.

Contrary to popular belief, playing blades or cb has nothing to do with skill level. There is no magic hcp where you should switch. If you started off playing blades then that is what you will be comfortable playing. If you started with cb's then that is what you will be comfortable playing.

If you come into the clubhouse and say I shot 68 today, does anybody ask if you were using blades or cb's? Nobody cares if you are using Knight ladies irons or one of kind hand forged by the samurai sword maker on top of Mt Yokohoma.

Dynamic Gold Tour Issue is simply plain old Dynamic Gold with a weight tolerance of +/- .5 grams

    and a fancy sticker

    Max,

Have you been fit for them or are you just going down the line?  If you have a high ball flight that tends to spin a lot then these may be the shafts for you.  Generally speaking these shafts work best for high speed, high launch players who are looking to create a little more penetrating ball flight.  I have X-100's in my CB's and love them.  I used the original Project X's prior to that but gave up on them when True Temper gave them an overhaul.  My best advice though is to get yourself fit as the only way to know if a shaft is right for you or not is to trust the numbers that a launch monitor gives you.  Good luck.
