Has anyone played with a Titleist 4 wood TS1 or 2 or older? How has that worked out? I'm thinking of not playing my 3 wood and 2 hybrid with a 4 wood. Other option might be a TSi1 or 2 5 wood because a 4 wood isn't available anymore and a 3 hybrid. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi, I bought TS2 fw in 16.5 degree and loved it. I found it easier to hit than a 15 degree.
I own ts2 and ts3 in 16.5 degree and aTs3 in 15 degree. The Ts2 16.5 degree is my preferred fairway wood.

For the hybrid, the Ts2 21 degree is also my preferred hybrid over the 19 degree.

For me ts2 are easier than ts3.

Please see a good fitter before make a move. You will save time and money.

I've played driver, 4 wood set up for years and love it. replaced 3 iron with hybrid about 3 years ago. i'm not positive but i think they offer tsi 2 in a 16.5 witch is basically a 4 wood. if not you can adjust a 3 wood up or a 5 wood down to 4 woodish loft.

The 16.5 is available in both the TSi 2&3. I currently have a 16.5 TS-2 and a 3 TSi-2 hybrid. A 3 wood is beyond my ability to get higher than 15 feet. Being LH, it takes a fair amount of creativity to try to find a TSi-1 to fit my gaps. Even fewer options in TSi-1 for LH.

I have been playing a 917F3 15* for many years and loved it until the new TSis were released. I tried the TS Drivers and Fairways when that series was released and they were just not for me. I purchased last year the TSi2F in a 15* loft and played around with it it and found at a 16.5* loved the height and was actually get more distance than my 917 fairway. Am very happy with it and at that loft is a 4 wood. I also carry a 18* and 21* hybrid in my bag. My irons start at 5 and run thru my wedges.

The 16.5 loft is really versatile. I have a 9.5 driver;13.5 3 wood;16.5 4 wood and 21 degree hybrid (set to 20).For mw, the gapping is perfect.
  7. I currently play a TS2 16.5° and it’s by far the best and most controlled fairway wood I’ve had, fits a gap perfectly for me! Not a huge distance drop off from a typical 3 wood (my launch characteristics that is) but more control with the slightly shorter shaft. I think a lot of people would be surprised by the benefits of a ‘4 wood’

I play the TSi2 16.5 wood, absolutely fantastic. I always struggled off the turf with a fairway wood, the little bit of extra loft has really helped.
  9. This makes me think that I might get the wrong 3 wood 13.5.... should I be using higher lofted wood too?

I would get fit, but it definitely worked for me, the extra loft made it easier to hit off the turf, and for me about the same distance off the tee
