    hello

ive been play snake eyes tc02 irons for a while now and do like these clubs with a nippon shaft, but the problem i have is the course i play is the fairways are cut into the lava field which makes it very tricky on days, and as you can guess my clubs are worse for wear :) ive since then bought some ap2 irons fitted at the shop which is very basic in iceland :( so we went with the current setup i have on the snake eyes.

now the problem im having with the ap2s is the ball flight is alot higher than what im used to and also losing distance,so i decided to dig the specs for both out and the titleist are anywhere from 1/2 a degree more upright to 2 degrees more and and the lofts are round about 1 degree weaker,so in golf term what sort of difference is this likely to have in terms of ball flight and distance and also would it be worthwhile setting the clubs up lie and loft the same as my snake eyes.these ap2s do feel really nice to hit though and thats why i want to try and sort the trajectory out if i can,

    regards

    nick

The AP2s are more standard in their lofts.  Some clubs today have strong lofts so that they can brag how long their 5 iron (for example) is.   But it has a 4 iron loft.  It really doesn't matter so long as you know how far you hit the clubs.  A higher trajectory gives you a better approach to most greens and makes it easier to hold the greens.  So if you can get used to the higher flight, you should benefit. You just have to know how far you carry each one and you may be hitting an 8 iron where you would have hit a 9 iron before.  Otherwise, there is no problem bending the clubs up to 2 degrees (as Cathi posted in answer to another question). --Jerry

well the wind does tend to blow alot here so i really dont want to get used to a really high ball flight or i would end up taking two or three clubs higher shots, the main problem really is the difference in lie standard compared to my other set of clubs 2 degrees is alot of difference and when setting them up should i take this into account compared to my other set which is set up nice, but i dint know if this is done for a reason ,the lofts only like 1 degree so will it really make that much difference?

well after giving it some thought as i didnt really want to touch the new clubs but the temptation was too much to bare,so i decided to take my 7 iron ap2 and because it is 1 degree more upright standard than my other set of clubs i bent it accordingly, originally i got it an extra 2 degree upright new the same as my other set but it was a degree more upright  standard so took 1 degree off it to match my other set of clubs and am now hitting very solid hits right in the middle ,i am really falling in love with these clubs now ive done a bit of tinkering, going to match the full set up now to my old ones which i hit well and see how it goes,i could actually play a draw and fade too which i struggled to do before i altered them so its a big thumbs up with that club :)
