  1. I am 15 and have a 13 handicap.  By the end of last summer i was shooting around 84. I have only been golfing for about 2 summers now, so i hope to improve quite a bit. Im tring to decide between the ap1 or ap2 irons. The ap2 are a bit outside of my price range, but i could get them if i really had to. Any help deciding would be great.

    Thanks L.A

  2. the ap2 irons are great feeling  irons for someone who can tell the difference...that being said a 13-15 handicapper might like the feel of the short irons and the forgiving long irons. I absolutely love mine!! I would say a golfer needing more focus onpure forgiveness would need ap1 and the golfer who is getting the hang of it and starting to be able to "feel" their shots would be making the right choice with the ap2. I would suggest finding a demo day and hitting the different sets and seeing if you can tell a difference or not. I never make a purchase without first having at least hit the club/clubs on the range with a knowledgable rep's assistance...good luck making your choice

A Titleist fitting session would really help you out on these decisions.  They can really get you the proper equipment and club set up.

Logan, I am a 4 handicap and I just went through the TPI fitting process on Jan. 31st over at the Oceanside, CA facility. It is worth the money to have an expert fit you for either of these sets that you are interested in! I agree that the AP1's are supposed to be more forgiving and intended for the higher handicap player, but I play game improvement irons now and was fitted for a set of AP2's by their Senior Fitter, Steve Ziff! They have a buttery soft feel and excellent ball flight wth the right shaft in them and that's the key. If you can get to a fitter, you'll have a better idea of what irons to actually spend that precious money on! There are too many independent requirements in a golf club to just go buy stock equipment off the shelf if you really want to improve your game. Of course, lessons along with properly fitted clubs make a lot of difference. Sounds like a good place to begin!

  5. Thank you for the helpful advice.  I live in Edmonton so their are very limited club fitters in the area. I got fitted for the Ap1's yesterday at 1 degree upright. I did not buy the clubs though, because the fitter did not help me with the club selection, just the customization. I am still having a hard time deciding, but i am definetly leaning towards the AP1's.

Find out from Golftown when the Titleist rep will be in for a Titleist fitting in Edmonton. He is awesome and if you come to the West End location you likely won't have to wait to see him the day he's in.

    Just a thought.
