Not sure if this will influence you to go ahead and get the 910, but we work on a two year cycle.  It takes that long to develop a product that we believe will give you superior performance, has better feel, and will improve your game.  Plus, we validate it on tour and get feedback from our players (Team Titleist) to help us with the development.  In short, we just brought the 910's out at the end of 2010, so you will have plenty of time to enjoy your new 910!

I think the naming of the last two drivers/fw metals might have thrown some people off.  There was a sequence...905, 907, 909, but then 910 was introduced and I think some people may have been thrown off.  :)

I'm sure the sequence was adjusted so as not to come up with a "911" driver.  Not wanting to put a matching date with the tragedy of 911 was the correct decision on Titleist's part.  .  The 910 will probably be followed by a 912?

    Deno,

I totally agree with you.  It would have been a branding nightmare to have a "911" driver.  I think Titleist did the right thing by calling it the 910.

the two year wait for drivers is a good thing that titleist dose. They are always working on new clubs but they have a two year swing for clubs at titleist witch give products time to prove themselves. it Took almost a year for magazines like golf power to reconize the 909 d3 as a long drivers option in there power tools issue. And i think they've had fantastic turn outs on respones to the 910 line. i think it out performs the compitition. I was a skeptick my self but i do recomend the new 910. Dont wait get fitted for it now so you can work it in the bag by mid season. Go have a good fitting done and let a Pro help you decide witch is the right club and shaft for you. He will make a decision based on performance and feed back.

as far as the Naming of the 910 line as to not offend the 911 people. I guess i can understand that. I think were getting to hung up on the event. Not saying im not sypethetic to the event and my prayers were for all the families involed but. I think were starting to grind the event into the ground. there are lots of historical events that have effected out country we lost thousends on D-day. the battle for the pacific, and vietnam. Not forgetting current wars. But i've lived in japan for 5 years now and they dont have week long tv series dedicated to the memory of the atomic bombings. Im not saying forget what happen im saying Move forward. remember the past but dont let it hold up the future. not to get political only deffending my point is this was not the first attack on U.S. soil. the Japanese invaded Alaska in WWII a fact higly over looked in history. Just saying i would have been fine with the 911 name i wouldnt attribute everything made with that slogan to that event. But agine i digress and i do sympethise with the idea of not naming a new club line 911.  Just an opinion not ment to offend anyone.

No offense taken, but we are all the "911 people" you speak of.  Have you flown lately?  Put your shoes in a tray? We will forever be linked with that date.   I think Titleist did the right thing in avoiding ANY controversey in naming a driver.  It's only a golf club , but not just a numerical date.

Always a pleasure to read your views.

  8. Hey Deno, My deepest sympathy to all those affected by 911. I thought a 911 Driver would be a mark of respect and memorial lest we forget (as if that was possible in our lifetime, hopefully it will be in our childrens.) Also as a porsche enthusiast and owner I was totally focussed on 911 as a Driver with the same number as my car. Best Wishes Duane

    Good thinkin John

    When I see 911, I think 9-1-1 the telephone number, not 9-11.

And I think 9-1-1 would be fitting for a Titleist driver. Since switching to Titleist driver I have never hit more fairways, I no longer think "maybe I should use 3 wood here"(I do still use 3/5 wood from the middle tees but that is because of the distance I want to hit it, when I move to the back it will be driver). Yes the Titleist driver is the emergency goto club.

Yes I think changing conventions, because someone might think something instead of just seeing it is how it is done, is kinda disgusting. If the new driver was the 911, I wouldn't think it meant anything other than 905,907,909,911.

Of course you'd think using 9-10 would be a bad thing for the Asian market, maybe they didn't want to use 9-13 here.

Cathi     Am thinking of upgrading to a 910     currently carrying a 905T  with NV 65 shaft (stiff)  am 56 yrs old  would be looking to the more forgiving of the 2 modes and would get fitted by same pro who fitted me for my ap2's   any thoughts on advance info so I can help my pro make the process easier?   thanks     curt

If you are in love with your NV65 shaft, we offer it as an option on the 910 driver at a nominal upcharge.  Also, check with your fitter -he/she will help you go with the head that offers you the best launch and spin for your swing. The two heads were made for helping players control their spin and launch, not necessarily more forgiving or less forgiving.  Let us know how your fitting goes!

I would say go into it with an open mind.  If you get fit by someone who knows their business then they'll know what shaft/head combo that works best for you.  What I got fitted for vs. what I thought I needed were two different things.  My fitter was patient and let me hit anything I wanted to, and wouldn't you know it, what hit picked I hit better and liked the most.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

    Zack,

I am just an average consumer and Titleist fan.  I have been playing a 905 for a few years.  I like it.  I just got my 910 with the Project X shaft.  I can swear to you it is so worth the money.  I am much longer and hit every fairway except one.  I have only played one round with it.  I am a 10 handicap, and do have a few bad habits.  I think you will enjoy the 910 if you pull the trigger on it.
