I have a set of ap1's goes from 4-pw . I really need a 3 iron cause I can't hit a 3 wood. Can I buy a 3 iron for this set?  If not what kind of 3 iron should i buy. I shoot in the high 90's

    Thanks,

  2. Hi Mark,

I did this a few days ago!

I am currently using AP1 from 5-9 iron but ordered the 3, 4 iron and PW on Friday for more consistency in my set (the 3 iron might replace my 21 hybrid when I play windy courses on the coast here in the UK but is primarily to improve my ball stricking!)

All you have to do is go to a Titleist fitter... have a look on fitting works for your nearest one and they can get the clubs in for you.

If you are shooting in the the 90's have a look at a hybrid as well, maybe 17 and 21 (get fitted for the shaft!). The 17 might offer you an alternative to a 3 wood and the 21 could act as your 3 iron.

I would also recommend going the hybrid route rather than the 3 iron.   I would go nothing less than a 19 degree and possibly lower to get you nearer the 3 wood distance if that is your goal.    But shaft choice will determine your overall success with the hybrid.

Get fitted to assist in your choice and lower your scores.   Good luck!

Just out of a fitting at the Manchester ln fitting site. I can not hit a 4 or 3 iron. I spent about an hour with my fitting rep and flipped out shafts and made adjustments to the 910h that I could not believe. My flight went up and down the ball went longer down the field. It wasa blast. I can't tell you enough how much it was worth the trip. I ended up with a 19and 21o hybrid. I also warmed up with a large bucket of prov test balls while she finished up with her other appointment.

Actually Mark a 7 wood replaces the 3 iron.  I would definitely suggest trying a few.  I was not and still not a fan of a hybrid.  A 7-wood for me is the easiest club to hit in the bag for some reason personally.  There are not that many companies that make them but they are out there.
