  1. I am a 6 handicap with the iron play of a 2 or 3.  My strokes are invariably lost on the tee box with errant drives.  I have seen no less than a thousand players whose weaknesses and strengths are similar to mine.  My solution was as follows.  I ordered a 15 degree 909H hybrid one inch short (40 inches) with an aldila shaft and a D1 swingweight (it came in around C8).  I hit the ball naturally high, so I have no trouble getting the low loft hybrid in the air.

I have never hit a club so well off the tee in my life.  255 to 265 yards with pinpoint accuracy and misses are 10 feet off the fairway, not 25 yards.

Unfortunately the new 910 hybrid's strongest loft is 17 degrees (can be strengthened .75 through adjustable head).

I would love to see how far I could hit a 12 degree hybrid that was only 40 or at the most 40.5 inches long.

The longer these drivers keep getting, (new 460 drivers are about 3 inches longer than an old persimmon), the tougher they are to control and often sidespin costs many steep attack players distance.

I believe a very strong lofted hybrid with a short shaft will provide an infinitely greater amount of control with minimal distance loss off the tee for players like myself, who hit their irons, even long irons well, but find it difficult to dial in a consistent driver swing.

Let's get Titleist to build a 12 degree 40.5 inch D2 swingweight hybrid that looks like the 909H.  I bet I could hit that thing 280 with a dispersion pattern not much wider than my four iron.  Who is with me?
