Let me first start by saying I love the feel and how I hit my 50.08, 56.11 and 60.07 SM Vokes.  I'm getting ready to purchase the AP1's custom 1" long with stiff shafts.  Now I know I'm forgoing the Gap Wedge offered but wat would you guys do on the Pitching Wedge?

Should I go with Vokey 46* for my PW or get the AP1 PW?  Just wanted to hear what others are doing...

I am a disciple of Bob Vokey, so my vote would be for the finest wedges made today - VOKEY!

a la Scott Stallings then huh?  That is where i'm leaning.  I think I'd bend the 46 to 45 to have it line up with the AP1 PW

I agree the 50 Vokey has been my favorite club in the bag.  I put the 46 200 Vokey in the bag to replace my 775 PW.  I can't comment on the PW in the AP1 line but the Vokey 46 is much better than the 775 PW for me.  BTW, I am very happy with the rest of my 775s

  6. Go with the Vokey Wedge. If you have an issue with spin, this will keep your spin rate high with partial swing wedge shots, and have softer landings and more workability for your short game.

    DON'T JOKE WITH THE VOKE!!!!!

I've loved my Vokeys (I have SM 54-11 cc, 60-07 and 64-07). The AP1 PW probably comes with the set anyway, so why not take it out for a few rounds of golf before buying another PW? Or you could buy the Vokey 46 and do a side-by-side comparision. A set wedge and one you buy as a separate each have their own high points. The set wedge generally gets better distance on full shots. The separate wedge usually stops the ball better.

I did a similar thing with the 48-06 and the DCI 981 P (47) and W (51). I returned the 48 to the store, acquired a 58-12 (and returned it). The DCI P an W worked well for me on my short game. I have also changed my Vokey setup to the 54-11 and 62-07 cc.

Stick with what you know, if it ain't bust don't fix it
  10. i do have the ap1 pitching wedge and i have vokey wedges, i love the pitching wedge better because with the ap1 set the clubs are more forgiving then other clubs, im not saying anything bad about vokey, I love his wedges, but i would go with the PW.

Interesting discussion.  Just one point to note, we do have a Vokey 46* available now through WedgeWorks.

It is the 246.06.  An excellent scoring club.  You can find out more here:  www.vokey.com/wedgeworks

Thanks for your support of Da Voke!

I know that is available... but i'm intrigued by the new line for 2012... Spin Milled 4.

Can't wait to see them!  Any teasers on when I can find in retail?  :-)

I'm waiting to wear out my 50.08, 56.11 and 60.07 before I go and order a new set from Wedgeworks...

BTW Dave,  Vokey store is due for a release next week leading up to PGA... right??  :-)  It's like waiting for Christmas!  I wish they came more often!

Any hints???  I'm hoping for an FJ polo and Cubic mesh or the Sports mesh style fitted hat....

Can't wait!  Keep up the good work!

    Cheers

    Justin,

We are working on some really cool stuff for the Vokey Store and WedgeWorks.  Probably will not be ready for the PGA Championship, maybe closer to the FedEx Cup playoffs.  I think it will be worth the wait!

Stay tuned to Team Titleist and Vokey.com for more details.

Okay good deal... now I don't have to check in with your Twitter next week while I'm vacationing!

Time for some fishing and golf up North.  :-)

I would get the PW and get the 46 later if necessary. I play AP1s.  I use PW for full shots primarily and could use the extra forgiveness. It launches pretty high and I get pretty good spin when it hits the green. I added 3 strips of lead tape so I can increase the swing weight so it could be a transition between my lighter irons and my heavier higher lofted wedges.

I would only consider a 46 Voke if I was a much lower handicap and use it for chipping around the green.

I use ap1s 3- pw but still stick to my 20+ yr old trusty dci wedge and sand iron, probably get booed but iv got a ping ( can hear the boos now) 1 iron I couldn't do without, my advice, stick with what works best for you.
