I think every foot and shoe is different. I have wide, flat feet. I've yet to find a pair of shoes (other than running shoes) that don't hurt my feet. I have Pro/SL's, HyperFlex II and Dryjoys. The HyperFlex and Dryjoys hurt my feet for the first couple of months. The Pro/SL's are new this year and so far they seem to be the most comfortable out of the box. My opinion is that they need to be broken in first. Getting over that hump (and it hurts to) will pay dividends in the end.

They make their shoes from different lasts that have different feels depending on the shape of your foot.

Best thing to do is try them on and see which shoes fit the best. If you have wide feet, like me or narrow, they still offer options for you. Most comfortable for me where the golf sneakers and they are padded behind the heel so great for no blisters.

I am positive they have a shoe that will fit your foot and if needed, you can special order and get two different sizes and widths.

This is a question that should have been addressed on footjoy.com, but I will jump in and see if I can help. There is really no break in period for the Pro/SLs. They are one of the most comfortable shoes in the FJ line. I have Pro SLs, DryJoy Tours, Icons, Tour S, and I can take any of those straight out of the box and straight to the course and play 18 holes. I have worn FJs since the 80's and have always ordered a 12 W. If you get a proper fit when you first purchase the shoes you should not have a problem with them. Have you talked with the chat line on footjoy.com. Most of the folks on that chat line are FJ Ambassadors, as I am and own many pairs of FJ's as I do. They talk to customers every day about issues regarding shoes and apparel. All those shoes that you are describing have a full rounded toe character, standard fit across forefoot and instep, with a slightly narrow heel. With the narrow heel and it is rubbing your heel, you sizing could be off or could your sock be dropping down into you shoe where you bare heel is rubbing against the shoe (the reason I asked this, it happened to me once and I changed to no roll socks). Did you have someone fit you for the FJ shoes? What did customer service at footjoy.com advise you? Just thinking outside the box.

I wear a size 11 and have a pair of Hyperflex and a pair of Pro/sly and they both fit great. I would suggest that you try either one. There great kicks.

I do know the different models of FootJoy will fit differently so don't give up on the brand until you try a couple of different models. I thought the ProSL would fit me great but turns out its too tight across the arch for my foot. The DNA is perfect for me. They handle my narrow heal but have more room across the arch. I have also had pretty good luck with DryJoy fitting my foot but I don't normally wear them when extensively walking a course. They are normally worn by me when riding in a cart. The new Fury might be good for your heel issue if the DNA doesn't work. I also picked up the Flex and I love them as a casual off-the-course shoe going to and from golf or just an alternative to tennis shoes. Good luck! I'm sure you will fine one that works.
