Has anyone had this happen to one of their FJ Traditions? Only on one shoe with 12 rounds of play. I've wiped them off with water.

Nope. I have to admit, I have 5 pairs of FJ Traditions. I loved the first pair of all white so much I started collecting them in various colors. When I am not wearing any of my golf shoes, I keep those cheap plastic shoes trees in them. That really makes a difference as they dry from normal perspiration in the inside of the shoe. The way your photo looks, I would say they got wet inside and dried without support causing those ridges which eventually lead to the cracking. Using a wax based shoe polish as a preventative is also important. You can do it now and it will help hide the cracking but will not restore the finish. Also, 12 rounds in 12 days would not be an issue. 12 rounds in 12 months in wet conditions and no preventative maintenance could be another story. I am not implying that you abused your shoes, just that following preventative care can significantly prolong their life.

First, this is the Titleist site, not FootJoy. In that I work as a Tech Rep for the local District FootJoy Representative and am a FootJoy Ambassador, here are my recommendations:

#1 - Contact the shop/account they were purchased. Keep in mind that Traditions have a one year warranty. I have seen this in the past but on shoes I have had for well over five years.

#2 - Contact FootJoy customer service regarding this issue at the below number:

Proper care and attention is required to maintain and prolong the look, performance, feel and comfort of golf shoes. Faced with a wide range of hazards, both leather and synthetic golf shoes must be thoroughly cleaned and properly stored between rounds in order to prolong the look and life of the shoes.

*We recommend rotating shoes between rounds - properly maintained the rotation of two pairs of shoes will last much longer than twice the life of a single pair.
*Use a shoe horn when putting on your golf shoes to protect the heel counter of the shoe.
*Check your cleats between rounds to ensure they are intact and secured properly into their respective receptacles, but DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN your cleats.
*Do not store your golf shoes in your car trunk, where high temperatures can break down shoe materials resulting in decreased lifespan of your shoes.
*We strongly recommend leaving Cedar shoe trees in your golfing shoes at all times when shoes are not in use.

I have had a similar situation. I will call Foot-Joy.

I have not had that issue, but I have several pairs and rotate every round. Call Footjoy and they will take care of. I hav a premere pair and they replace with no issues.
