I had just awoken from a nap and realized I was running late for my 1:40 p.m. tee time, at Westchester Golf Course in Los Angeles, CA. Luckily I arrived with two minutes to spare, i hurried to the first tee to meet my friend, Dave who I was playing with that day and a random twosome we were paired with, the green was free yet no one took the honors, so as you do when you are running late, you take the lead! It was a nice day but the wind was quite strong, as Westchester is by the LAX and the ocean so it picks up a bit in the afternoon. I decided to club up and pull out my 9 iron on what is usually a 108 yd, par 3 for the first hole (which after my round came in at 101 yds when i went back to get the right distance with the rangefinder). Good swing, nice pace, I struck the ball well! Not much more i want off the first tee, as i watched it land just before the green it bounced then rolled...and stopped! “DID THAT JUST GO IN” my playing partner, Dave yelled! “Ahhhh i think so!” Everyone hit and as we rode up to the green my eyes lit up. It went in! My first hole-in-one, not to mention on the first tee!
