  1. Our group has played golf together for 20 years at Arrowhead Golf Club. We rotate our foursomes every week and keep track of the wager winnings. We play a tournament to determine who will be Comissioner for the next year. The team that loses is made Commissioners. The Pressure to not lose is much greater than to win! The 7th hole of the West course was 156 yards with a pin on the back of a sloped green protected by water on all sides. Par is a good score and birdies are rare. Having dropped plenty of balls in the water in past efforts I was nervous. I have not hit my irons very well all season so this could ruin my whole round with a big number on the hole. I took a deep breath, tried to relax and swung. The impact was pure. The ball tracked a small draw heading directly toward the hole. It landed and continued to roll toward the pin. I was hoping for a good look at birdie. No one could see it on the green? My mates looked using a range finder and could not see it. We headed toward the green to see what happened. The ball was no where to be seen. I peaked into the hole and there it was! An ACE! The bill for our group was big but such a great feeling and a great day!
