Woodstock Country Club, in Woodstock, IL is a private club designed by Tom Bendelow. Golf Magazine has ranked it in the Top 25 of all 9 hole courses in the country. It is a hilly delight with undulating fairways and greens. An "every man's" club with a friendly membership. The 8/17 hole is played in a range from 145 to 106 yards depending on placement of the tees. On August 19 I was playing the back 9 and the markers had me at 117 yards. The hole faces west so when I hit my shot it looked good but the late afternoon sun prevented me from seeing the results of my shot. I heard it hit the green so knew it was on the putting surface. My three playing partners and I arrived at the hole and could not find my ball. I saw my pitch mark so asked my buddy Jim to check the hole. Sure enough it was in the Covid cup! This hole seems to fit my eye as it is the third ace I have achieved at this hole. The other two I saw go in but circumstances of this ace made me take a been there before attitude. It was still a thrill and pleasure to hit my Pro V1 in the cup. Jamie
