I had participated in the most recent Lions Club Tournament at the Country Club of Woodmoor last Friday, August 14th in Monument, CO. I decided to use a Titleist Velocity Ball (with my company’s logo on it) on Hole #4. It’s an elevated Par 3 and the score card read 138 yards. My laser told me otherwise. It gave me a reading of 150 yards. I decided to go with an 8 iron and took a couple of practice swings. I hit the ball and it made it over the water and hit the front fringe. Then, it meandered approximately 10-15 feet to the hole. While it was slowly making its way, the team in front of us were yelling “in the hole” and that’s when I knew it had a chance. Finally the white ball disappeared into the cup and we celebrated like there was no tomorrow. (The team ahead of us was also celebrating as they saw the put go into the cup too!). Of course, when I got to the clubhouse, I was more than happy to carry on the tradition and pay the hefty beer tab at the clubhouse. I’ve had some good times on golf courses in my life but this moment was extra special because this happened in the town that I happen to live.
