  1. I started caddying at the Framingham Country Club in Massachusetts in 1958 at age 11. I went from caddy to caddymaster to shop assistant at that course until I joined the Navy in 1968. I loved the game right from the start and credit the club pro, Robert H. "Bud" Trumbull for instilling in me a desire to always play fair and enjoy the game. I've now been playing for 62 of my 73 years. On Saturday August 1st 2020 I was playing in the 2nd round (of 3) of the net division of the Club Championship at Pequot Golf Club in Stonington, CT. I was grouped with Karl Boehm and Sonny Barnard. My average drive these days is 185 to 190 yards. So on the 197 yard par 3 17th hole I always use my driver. Due to this summer's dry conditions, the ball gets a little more roll than usual. I hit a shot that didn't get very high off the ground. I watched it roll straight as it went towards the green. But the green dips below line of sight so I didn't get a view of the end result. All three of us were in individual carts due to Covid 19 regulations. Karl got near the green first and said he saw the top of the ball in the hole (styrofoam is still in each cup). I saw the top of the ball as well and let out a bit of a holler. I finally had achieved a life long dream - to get a hole in one. I was using a ProV1. A very happy day in my life, for sure.
