At least once a week, my golf partner and I -- we're both from Brattleboro, Vermont -- play a couple of guys from Keene, New Hampshire in match play for what we have deemed The VT/NH Cup. Thus far, VT leads this season-long series, 6 - 3, but we've suffered back-to-back losses the last two matches. But not today thanks to my ace on the 145-yard par 3, 7th hole on the South Course at Bretwood GC in Keene, NH. I used a 5-iron to hit my #4 Titleist Tour Soft ball over the trap guarding the front right side of the green. It took one short hop and went into the hole. ACE and VT goes up by 2 holes! Unfortunately, all I can do is buy sodas after the round since the 19th hole at Bretwood is closed due to COVID-19. The Green Mountain State team went on to win 4 up with 3 to go and I carded my best score of the season - 76! This was my third hole-in-one and it couldn't have come with a nicer group of guys. It's been a tough 2020, but fun things still happen on the golf course.
