  1. On the 17th hole at Grassy Creek Golf Club in Spruce pine, North Carolina, which was playing 140 yards slightly downhill, I hit a knock-down 8-iron. The ball landed 10 feet in front of the hole, took a large divot, one bounce and rolled slowly to the hole. It hit the middle of the hole and flagstick, which had a large and high "donut" attached to it, and then bounced a few inches away because there was no room in the hole for it. My wife witnessed the shot. According to a number of major golf organizations, this counts as a "holed ball" and I'm sticking with that. Ace #2!
