My name is Jim Smith (age 67) and I have been golfing for over 45 years. While coming close several times, I had never hit the hole-in-one golf dream shot, until July 22, 2020.
We were playing Orlando's pristine Eagle Creek Golf Club (consider it my home course) and I was +1 after 7. From the #8 par 3 tee box, the pin was located approximately 170 yards on the back (third) tier. With slight right-to-left, into the wind conditions, I knew I had to club up (2 club lengths) to reach the back of the green. I choked up on a 20 deg hybrid and hit a nice draw onto the green. As I was watching the ball roll toward the pin, I said, "this one is going to be close", and then all the sudden, the ball disappears into the hole!!! The rest is history :)
I have played Titleist Pro V1s for a long time, and how fitting it was for my first ever hole-in-one to be with a Titleist Pro V1 with the number "1" !!! Guess I will need to use #2 until my next hole-in-one!
