I was struggling with my driver and it really let me down the previous 2 holes so I was happy to arrive at the par 3 because my irons felt comfortable. So I checked the yardage and the hole was located forward right on this up hill kidney shaped green and it was 124 yards to the pin. My league partner remarked the wind was swerling and I told hi to plan on it in your face. I grabbed my pitching wedge usually good for 130 and set my ProV1 on a very nice tuft of grass and stepped back to visualize my shot. Standing above my ProV1 my last thought was all this needs is a smooth swing. Exceptional contact and follow through as I watch my ball flight directly at the flag thinking it just may hit the stick. My ProV1 disappeared behind the flag stick it was late in the day and the shadows of the trees made it difficult to see but I heard a light thump from the ball hitting the green ( unmistakable) and then I thought I heard a light tink. I brushed it off thinking no no I’ve been really close before but no dice! I stared very hard at the green while the other 3 tees off and the entire approach to the green hopefully not seeing my ProV1. When we arrived at the green I said to my golf partner do you see my ball? All we saw was a divot 3 feet behind the flag and NO ball. I then hurried to the pin and at the bottom of the hole was my ProV1. My first hole in one and a long time in coming-finally.
