  1. I'm very fortunate to have a very tight group of High School friends. We all grew up in Latrobe, PA (Yes, the home of Arnold Palmer.), but now are scattered across the US. We get together at least twice a year to play golf and re-tell all the hilarious stories from little league through our college years. The stories have aged well. Each July, the group gathers to play a friendly competitive - with LOTS of fun mixed in - event called the Shabudnik. This past weekend was the 26th consecutive Shabudnik, and, like 20 of the 26, was held at Seven Springs in Champion, PA. During the afternoon round on Friday, July 17, I had my first hole-in-one! It was also the first in the history of the Shabudnik! Hole #6 at the Seven Springs golf course, playing 157 yards, was where the historic event happened. Cam was first to tee-off and struck what was up to that point, the shot of the day. He hit it to 2 ft! Being the last to play, I pulled my Titleist AP3 9-iron. I struck my Titleist ProV1x solidly and watched along with 7 other players - 3 on my tee and 4 others from the #7 tee - as the shot landed 8 ft short of the hole, rolled past Cam's ball and dropped into the cup!! Nothing better than making a hole-in-one with 7 of one's closest friends as witnesses!
