Got a text from some friends yesterday afternoon asking if I wanted to join them for a 6am tee time. Although that is somewhat early for me, I decided to go, as it sounded like fun. I was playing pretty well and was 1 under though 8 holes. Hole number 9 at Woodward Golf Club is a 194 yard par 3 with bunkers on the front left and front right, and plays pretty tough. Typically I am hoping to just hit it on, or close to the green and hope to get in with par. I hit a solid shot with my 4 iron AP2 that had a slight draw. There was a shadow behind the hole which made it hard to tell if it had went in, or just by the hole and into the shadow. As we approched the green, we did not see a ball in the shadow and assumed it was in. The groundskeeper raking the left bunker for the day said nonchalantly, "Ya, I saw it go in." High fives, fist bumps and several drinks in the club house to celebrate followed. Happy 4th of July.
