  1. On Wednesday, June 24th I had my first hole-in-one. It happened on the 16th hole of Barton Hills Country Club (Ann Arbor) -- playing 194 yards that day with a difficult pin position (right side of the green, middle-back) and a slight hurting wind. I hit a 4 iron. The ball landed about 25' short of the pin, checked and released, then dropped out of sight. I had just gotten word as I walked off the 15th green that the roofer who was supposed to arrive and complete a quick repair that afternoon canceled on us. I called my wife to let her know. Since she passed on a gathering with a few of her friends to stay home, the call did not go well! Fifteen seconds later I teed up and let it fly! After more than a half century playing the game and countless near misses, the golf Gods decided it was my turn to experience the ultimate thrill in the game! I was particularly pleased that Titleist was ball I used that day since I have been a long-time loyalist!
