I have been playing golf since the mid 1970s (when golf wasn't "cool") and after 43 years and it FINALLY happened! My son, son-in law and a college friend were playing Mammoth Dunes at Sand Valley Golf Resort in Wi. (If you haven't played here YOU NEED TO) we came up to hole 16 and it was playing 179 with a wind with us right to left, the caddie suggested a 7 iron right because the fairway slopes into the green and I switched clubs to an 8 iron because of the wind. When I hit it the ball it had a slight draw and the wind was helping it some, the greens there are very fast and it needed to carry the bunker in front and that's all I wanted at first but when the ball carried that bunker it disappeared, with the slopes of the green we had no idea were the ball went until we approached the green and seen it wedged between the pin and the hole, because of the elevated cups you could see it right away! Chaos ensued and the celebration started! The Titleist Pro V1X ball was forever taken out of play and my quest for the elusive Hole in 1 finally happened!! To have my family with me definitely made a lifetime memory for all of us and a very special day!
