After starting late in life at age 45 and golfing for 20 years. I made my first hole in one while golfing with my wife Teresa today, June 9, 2020 on the back nine of our course the Eshquaguma Country Club in NE Minnesota. It was a beautiful sunny day at ECC, 82 degrees with a light wind from the east. On hole 14 a 142 yard par 3 there were two families of Canadian geese on the fairway which has an idyllic river flowing next to it. As i was preparing to hit, the geese started to cross toward the river so i had to wait for both families of two adult geese and 4 gosslings in one group and 5 in the other to pass by. After they were clear i made my shot and immediately said to Teresa that the shot felt perfect. In fact it was. It was a high draw that bounced once and landed in the hole. The ball i used was a used Pro V-1 given to us from her uncle John Patrick Flanagan's family who passed away in July 2018. Uncle Pat and i talked about golf whenever we saw each other and his family knew of our shared love for the game. So they gave us a bag full of used golf balls which included some of his prized possession Pro V-1s that he had collected and used. They had an "F" for Flanagan marked in black on them. It was one of his lucky balls with which i made the ACE today. Uncle Pat was a devout catholic family man who loved golf and i know he is smiling today from heaven seeing that "perfect shot" with one of his Pro V1s. Larry Lehtinen Gilbert Minnesota
