  1. On March 15th at 4:00am, my home suddenly went up in flames. I watched as everything I worked so hard for disappear. Along with losing everything, including my best friend, Louie (Golden Retriever), my mind quickly went to golf and how would I have the energy to play again. A week later, I went back to Ball Golf, a club fitter in the greater OKC area and ordered my new clubs. Saturday, April 11th was my first round post fire. For 4 hours my mind was able to escape that day and enjoy watching a white ball fly. That day I was playing with a Pro-V1, numbered 24 for Kobe. Hole 12 was 155 yards, middle pin, with a 20mph head wind. I chose to play a knock down 8. As it left the face, it flew right at the pin. Then a loud slap as it hit the bottom of the stick. I still wasn't sure what happened, but as I walked up, THERE IT WAS! This is during COVID-19, so the cups have pvc inserted in the cup to keep contact at a minimum. As you will see in the picture, the slap I heard was the #24 Kobe ball hit nothing but cup! I like to think that Louie was golfing with me that day and wanted to see my smile, and that I did!
