On Feb 22 while playing in a regular Saturday game with three friends in a team game where the two best balls are used for your team score against four other teams we came to the seventh hole at the Pines Course at Pompano Beach Golf Course. The seventh hole was playing into a 16 mile an hour wind. The first two players in our group missed the green short so I chose an 8 iron, one up from my normal club on a 123 yard shot. The hole was in a small valley behind a bunker. My shot was high and landed on the top left of the valley and bounced into the valley out of sight. One of my partners said he thought he heard the ball hit the flag, but we could not see the bottom of the flag, or hole. The fourth player in our group hit his shot onto the green. So we expected to see two balls on the green when we got up to the green. We only saw one ball! Our team captain ran past the hole and seeing a ball in the hole, and another on the green, ripped off his wind shirt and ran around the green twirling his wind shirt in celebration. I walked to other ball on the green and saw that it was not my ball, walked quickly to the hole and excitedly picked my Titleist ProV1X out of the hole. Our team was now three under par thanks to an earlier birdie I scored and my ace.
