It was a cooler fall afternoon in long grove , Illinois at Twin Orchard CC. The pin was on the far right of the green that has bunkers lining it on each side.
In order to reach the pin you need to play a fade or a more risky draw over the right bunker.
I warned my partner that I was going to play it left of the pin but with my typical draw not risking the sucker pin . I struck it and it was a great strike but shot out to the right more than I desired. I was concerned it would not carry the bunker on the right. My partner claimed it was going to be pretty close to the flag. I was prepared for anything and walked to the green with my putter and wedge. I looked around and didn’t see anything. I then double checked the bunker. Than I walked to the hole and saw my prov1 laying at the bottom of the cup. It was my first ever after 25 years of golf.
