A sunny fall day, me and my buddies playing our usual 5/5/5 better ball match at Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton Illinois. With the match close, we were playing the back nine (that day it was the East Course). Arrowhead has three 9 hole courses which are normally in great shape, but with winter around the corner, aeration must be done to get the greens ready for next year. On the third hold of the East Course is a 156 yard par 3 which is guarded by bunkers on both sides of the green I hit a 7-iron, and we all got to watch it land, hop, and disappear into the hole which started our celebration. Playing with Jimmy Devers, Todd Laidlaw, and Chris Hood, three guys that I played with over the past 20 years, we enjoyed several adult beverages after the round. I usually play with a Pro VI, but with the course conditions I played with an NXT Tour which is now retired.
