Have played golf my whole life, but prior to about 7-8 years ago (around the time I turned 30 and got hooked) fairly minimally (maybe 5-8 rounds per year). For the last 7-8 years I've averaged somewhere between 60-80 rounds/year and have got my index down to between 4-5. A few weeks ago (Saturday, 10/22) I was playing at the course I belong to: Mountain Branch Golf Course with a group of regular guys that play on the weekends in Maryland and we had a frost delay that morning. When there is a frost delay they send everyone off #10 as the back side gets much more sun. On what is the #9 hole (playing as #18 this day) I hit 7i to a front pin playing 155-160 yards. Flew it just over the flag (green slopes down a little) and the ball spun back into the hole for my first ace. Almost seems unimaginable, but 15 days later (this past Sunday, 11/6) again playing with a regular group of guys at Mountain Branch, on the #7 hole playing only about 145 but uphill and a wet/coldish day (ball wasn't traveling as far as usual) I again hit 7i (choked down a tik)...ball started right of the flag and was drawing hard back at it, but hung out to the right more than I'd hoped (or so I thought), and it flew into sort of a backstop (two tiered green and in fairness hitting into that backstop was my intent) just right of the fringe took one bounce left onto the downhill/backstop on the green and rolled all the way down and back into the hole......we were all sort of in disbelief mainly because everyone knew I'd just had my first hole-in-one just a couple weeks prior....pretty incredible....both hole-in-ones were made playing a Titleist Pro V1x golf ball.
