I have been playing golf for most of my life (25 out of 30 years) and played competitively in High School and for two years in College and never once had a hole in one. On Saturday while on vacation in Orlando playing golf at ChampionsGate on Hole #5 I was offered to play a game for a veterans charity where you donated $20 and if you hit it on the green you won $20 at the pro shop and if you hit a hole in one you got a $500 Visa gift card. Amazingly enough I hit a hole in one. It hit it about 1 foot directly behind the hole and spun back into the pin and it dropped.

I hit it using my Titleist AP2 718 Irons and a Yellow AVX #3 Ball.
