During a recent trip to the north east of England during a pairs competition at Bamburgh Castle, the round was drawing to a close with the 17th and 18th to go, with our score not being very competitive I decided to have a crack at the drivable 17th. An elevated tee with OOB all the way down the right, accuracy was vitally important, I had not anticipated such accuracy when I flushed a 3 wood off the deck, we held our breath in amazement as the ball headed towards the green, the group in front had played us down so there was an audience, thrilled that I would be putting I lost sight of the ball only to be alerted by the group in fronts loud cheer, my playing partners rushed me giving huge hugs and high 5's. At this point I was a little cautious in case those in front were winding me up. As I made my way to the green I noticed one of the guys was filming my walk down so I went all Rory, lapping up the applause and low and behold, there she was nestled at the bottom of the cup. An ace, on a par 4. Not sure I can ever do that again 1 for 5 points and a more respectable score card
