I was in northern Minnesota with a large group of friends for a Labor Day golf weekend, and 12 of us were playing at Grand View Lodge’s The Pines, Woods/Marsh course. #5 measured 142 yards to the pin, a bit down hill. I chose my 7 iron and when I hit it, I knew it was going to be good, but couldn’t see where it ended up as there was a ridge and shadows. I walked up thinking my ball was one of the two on the green, but ‘twasnt. Disappointed, I said that it must have rolled off the green, but as I walked past the hole, out of the corner of my eye I saw that there was a ball in the cup. You’d have to ask my playing partners what transpired immediately after that, as I blacked out. Just the best experience ever.
