I was playing an evening round on the Red Course an Army Navy Country Club with a good friend on the 27th of October, 2023. On the par 3 sixth hole, I chose to club up on the 177 yard hole and swing a choke down 6 iron into the wind. I hit a rope straight into the setting sun which looked to be right on target but I could only see the ball bounce once on the green. After the others hit their tee shots we crossed the bridge that crosses the creek which protects the green. As we approached the green I saw my ball mark 8 foot short and in line with the cup but no ball. I dropped my bag and walked to the pin to find my Pro V1 in the bottom of the cup for my first hole-in-one in over 50 years of playing the game.
