It was my third time playing at Oak Hill Country Club. I have played the West course twice before and thought it was the most beautiful course I have ever had the privilege to play, that is, until I was invited to play the East Course. Almost 1 year from the day that Michael Block hit his hole in one on the re-designed 15th hole, I found myself staring down at the 15th green with two intimidating bunkers fronting the green with the flag stick in the exact same position as that day 1 year prior. Playing 115 yards in the wind and having just duffed my 50 degree from 50 yards out on 14, I thought to myself I should club up to a PW, choke up on the club and take a 3/4 swing to just try and land anywhere on the green. My shot went up high and straight, landed 4 paces on 30 feet left of the pin and immediately spun to the right, taking the slope down the hill, directly into the cup. My first ever hole in one, and on a historic course with rich history. The day was incredible.
