Almost did not play the hole!

    I decide to play golf at my home course in the PNW. (A toasty 45 degrees) After playing 9 holes, I had about 30 minutes left of daylight. I was on the fence whether to call it a day or to play a couple more holes. I drove my cart to the parking lot to see if anyone else were still on the course. I did not want the Pro Shop to wait for me to close the gates. Luckily there was another group playing.

    Decided to Play the last 3 holes. I finished 16 with a 3-putt bogey and headed to 17. The remaining group was on the green putting out. Feeling tired and hungry, I decided to head to the parking lot. For whatever reason I stopped my cart and turned around. Just told myself "You're here already! Play the hole!".

    119 yards downward to the pin. I hit my Vokey SM10 60 right at the pin. Ball disappeared into the hole. Slam dunk Hole in One! To think I almost did not play the hole!

    My wife and I (With each other or with other players) will try to play the last Par 3 if we have to shorten the round for some reason. (Hasn't worked yet - all 5 of hers and 6 of mine were 18 hole rounds).

    Some folks used to say "You have to have 18 holes for it to be legal" stemming from Golf Digest originally requiring a full 18 to be played. I don't hear that so much any more.

    Nonsense. You tee it up, you swing - it goes in. What happened "You holed in ONE". ACE, baby.

    Always play the last three even if it's in the dark!
