  1. Thursday, January gr9th, 2025, coldest day on 2 years in Ormond Beach, Florida. Playing with three buddies, we teed off at 8:00 am and had the course to ourselves; no one in front of us and no one behind us for a long bill time. Started out on first tee and the temp was 36 degrees-cold for us Florida boys! But, unlike, Tuesday, there was no wind…yet. As we began the last three-four holes, the wind picked up and as we got to the 157 yard par 3 number eight, it was howling. We calculated at least a two club wind. Measured the distance at 157 yards (normally a 6-iron for me). And decided on my Titleist 4-hybrid. My Pro V-1 was settled comfortably on a shorty tee and I concentrated on making a god swing. I made what I thought was a decent swing, but the ball came out low and left headed for a tree and the cart path. I obviously put some cut spin on it because as it never got more than 3 feet off the ground, it cut right, climbed a small hill near the green and disappeared over a small rise in the green. One of my playing partners thought it went in the hole. I thought it sailed through the green and and into the woods behind the green. Arriving at the green, I got out my 9-iron, wedge, 60 degree wedge and putter. As I walked onto the green, a playing partner burst into hysterical laughter as he pulled my Pro V-1 out of the hole. I think I’ll play again tomorrow!
