What are your opinions? Although there are some fantastic courses in the U.S.A., I'm a huge fan of the Euro courses. They don't have a town built on the course(s) and everything seems so natural.

I don't know about overall. There are some amazing courses in the US and in Europe. I do like the way the courses look on the Euro Tour TV coverage and it seems like they play more diverse courses. Many of the courses on the PGA Tour all start to look the same from week to week.
Yes, exactly. The U.S. P.G.A. Tour courses do start looking the same week after week. The Euro P.G.A. plays in more than one "Country" as well, which would explain why they're more diverse. Don't get me wrong, I'd play golf just about anywhere, because I love it.
Since we are talking about Euro vs. US golf, one thing that I like about Euro golf is the TV coverage. I prefer it over the US PGA tour coverage. There is way less talking by the announcers for the Euro tour. It is more about watching the golf.

Just an FYI, Rory McIlroy shot a 10 under in the final round of the Quail Hollow Championship to win the event by 4 strokes.
My comment about the courses in the US being the same was in the way they are played by the pros. For the most part, in the US it is hit is as far as possible and then hit high approach shots into the greens. There are exceptions. But, at least the Euro courses have a little more diversity in the ways to play the course - high shots, bump and run, etc. I like golf in the US as much as anyone (I live here), but it is nice to see different types of courses from week to week on the Euro Tour.

I think that it is more of a difference between the type of course than were it is located. The course we play the most in the US a "park land" courses. In the UK the predominent type of course in "links". In Europe proper there are a lot more park land courses than links courses.
The park land courses tend to me a lot more lush and favor a higer ball flight, aerial golf.
The links course tends to look burnt out and a bit shaggy, but the green are usually very hard and very fast. These courses tend to faver a lower ball flight and if you can play a bump and run style of golf you will be at home on them.
I personally like both styles of course. Park land golf can get so that all courses and shots look alike. Even though the weather does effect the play, it really doesn't change the course all that much.
Go and play a lot of links golf and you will quickly discovor that the weather is a significant factor to the game. Most links courses never play the same two days in a row.
Yeah...I like the fact that the Euro type courses/links type courses rarely play the same back to back days. I mean, there are some courses in the U.S. that require bump-n-run play, but, in my opinion, Euro golf requires it all. And, when I refer to "Euro" type courses, it could be anywhere across the "Pond" :)
I LOVE U.S. golf! I just find Euro golf VERY intriguing!
