Playing year round means preparation is everything in golf when the colder weather is here. Titleist gears had inspired me providing some great essentials. Here are a couple of beanies and a snood neck warmer along with my other FJ gears.

Hope you had a chance to pick them up as well.

Wow and no one would suspect that California golfers use beanies and snoods. I actually keep that beanie in my golf bags for the early morning starts!

Yes, Cathi, you are correct! :-) Usually after 3 to 5 holes, the beanie goes back into the bag. It was 27* when we got to the course a couple weekends ago and mid 30s when they let us off.

The low temperature can linger on all day sometimes. Up here in the high desert is a little different than the lower valleys. Once in the SCGA Team Play, we got out when it was mid 30s and little flurry came down for a few minutes (lol who would have thought!), and it stayed cold all day.

Las Vegas courses and temperatures during winter is almost the same to what we have here in the Antelope Valley... windy at the same time, too, which brings me to another topic, the AVX ball. Its extra length, softness, and lower ball flight is like cheating the wind- I love it!

I have to agree with No'l, some of the coldest nights i can remember have been on business trips to Palmdale. One night at a Lancaster Jethawks baseball game my buddies came unprepared and were buying zip tops from the clubhouse store by the fourth inning and that was early May. Also got stuck for several days in 2 feet of snow at the Palmdale Courtyard hotel one December a few years back. It's definitely called the High Desert for a reason. That cold wind will cut you in half.

Dale, your timing is impeccable! We only get snow once a year in a week if any and you caught it. :-)

Give me a shout out if you're out here again- let's play! ...a little Billy Bell course I think you'll enjoy.
