My wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary today by going out for a nice meal at a great restaurant in town. Steak was great and was washed down with a couple of beers. When we left I noticed that my Scotty Cameron license plate bracket along with my new Ohio U plate had been "gifted" to an unknown stranger. Guess I'm Santa to someone! Merry Christmas. Now the question is... Do I purchase another one? Are they even available?

Man, sorry to hear, that's ridiculous. Could be a long shot, but see if the restaurant has cameras in the lot. I doubt it will be sold off, so keep an eye out for it on a car in your area. Is this like the one you had? www.scottycameron.com/.../product.aspx

That's terrible Duane. Happy 30th though. Plenty of sticky fingers around when they recognize cool stuff.

They were readily available at the Encinitas Gallery, but I think they've sold out.

I doubt the punks are golfers but if they are I hope all their drives slice OB and all their approach shots find the water.

May the fleas from a thousand camels invade their golf bags.

    Sorry for your loss OP!

That stinks. You can still get the Scotty Cameron plate on the website for $32.

www.scottycameron.com and look in the store under "creations".

Torx security screws may be able to limit the number of folks that have the tool needed to get them off.

    Best luck

It's unbelievable. You can't have anything nice. So much for the Xmas spirit. I'm okay at the club, but if I go somewhere where the public is involved, I strip everything off the bag. Tags, towels, you name it. I'll even keep the hood snapped on until I begin play, lest some guy with a set of Top- Flite 11 pcs and a bag for $ 599.99 sees what's in my bag and decides to do an on the spot upgrade. This is the way of the world today. I wish you could have caught this person in the act so you could have used his head for a football.

It is crazy how careful we need to be these days. Even at a private club, I'm very wary of my surroundings. The club I used to work at was a higher end private club, in a private neighborhood, in a very low crime town. One summer we had a string of vehicle break-ins, these people obviously watched the patterns for our bag staff outside and waited to strike until the evening when we were occupied with play coming off the course, driving range cleanup, etc. Never had a plate or plate frame stolen from what I know, but definitely had clubs and other golf accessories taken.

Sorry to hear that, Duane. I HATE thieves. I've had 2 golf bags stolen (one had my old Titleist 962 irons).
