  1. My wife is from the Pittsburgh Area and August 2016,my wife and I did a stay and play at Latrobe CC.We stayed in what was know as Peggy Palmer's house,it was beautiful and was filled with memorabilia Latrobe CC is a beautiful course,I shot an 82 that day,I did quite a bit of 3 putting due to not knowing the greens. After we finished playing,we got to spend 30 minutes with Mr.Palmer,we talked for several minutes about his time at Wake Forest, some about his dad,Deacon and about Latrobe. He autographed several items for me,some of which were donated to the Wake Forest University Golf Program. We toured his office and saw many, many trophies and other items he collected while he played. I took many pictures of his office and workshop, some of which I will share. This visit was arranged by a very good friend Jack Lewis,Jack was the first recipient of the Arnold Palmer Scholarship at Wake Forest. Jack would travel with Mr Palmer and play exhibitions around the United States. After our visit,it was less that 2 months later that Mr Palmer passed away, which was a very sad day for Golf. I was truly blessed by getting to spend those 30 minutes with him. RIP Mr Palmer and Thank You.

What a wonderful memory. In your other post your wife gave you a great present. I don't think I'd even have to think about trading my 718 irons for a 10 year old set of cobr irons to have to a day with The King. I'll need to find out why my wife that went to high school in Latrobe didn't get me a day to remember. :-)

Awesome. Such a wonderful man. RIP. Met him at clinic at Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville, Tn in the mid 70's, long before I took up this game. Great memory. Thanks for sharing.

I met him at the Vantage Championship back in the 90s. He was coming out of the clubhouse, heading towards the range, wrapping a leather grip on a club. I was the only one there, and I told him I went to the same high school as his nieces in Springfield, Va. He treated me as he had known me all my life. He autographed a Titleist visor, and I still have it. It is the only autograph I have ever asked for as an adult. I am a member of an Arnold Palmer designed course, and my son shares his birthday.

Great ambassador for golf - I met him at the Fred Meyer Challenge when he was partners with Peter Jacobson.
  13. I guess I caught him on a bad day at the 1985 US Senior Open at Edgewood Tahoe where I was a volunteer. He was kind enough to sign my hat, but acted as if it was a bother. By the way, Miller Barber won the event and was the only player in the field to break par.

Met him at Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville, TN, in the early 70's. He was putting on a clinic and I got tickets thru the Sporting Goods Store I worked for. Not a golfer but liked Arnie, who didn't.
