My first two rounds of 2019 were both in the 80s. I hope this year means a lot more of the same. That's a big deal to me!! Lol!

5deg, that’s cold ! I guess I won’t complain about it being in the 40’s here in California. A cold day of golf is always better than a warm day of work.

I played yesterday, for the first time in about a month. It was the "tale of two 9's." I couldn't hit squat on the front, and shot a 50 (YIKES). I did manage to turn it around on the back, and shot 40. Yeah, starting the year with a 90 isn't very good, but +4 on the back wasn't too bad.

My first round of the year was one I hope to soon forget... shot a smooth 80 and watched little brother casually take shots of fireball (on my tab) every other hole on his was to opening his year with a 68. Needless to say there was less than friendly banter going on haha!

On a positive note, I took my 7 year old along. I usually put him on the red tees, or the 150 marker (whichever is closer). On #1, he hits driver from 150, just short of the green (downhill the whole way). Chips up, 2 putts for par.....not bad for his first hole of the year!

He must have been doing some off-season training for both a 68 and 9 shots.

Played my first round of 2019 Saturday the 5th as well. Weather in the 50's but course really wet was able to pull out a 73 so all in all not too bad for me. 3 birdies on back and 4 bogeys on front flat stick took awhile to warmup.

Actually got in three rounds this year so far. A little wet but the temps have been around 70*. Started the year out with 83, 82, and 80. Pounded the driver today, iron game looked much improved, way too many putts (34) with five lip outs.
We did have a great day and wish I had worn shorts. Temp will be dropping to the 50's the rest of the week, but plan on playing Wednesday and Friday with my regular group. Had 32 show up today for our senior men's group. Won a close up on a par three. Life is good for this retiree.

Played my first 9 of the year today as well...
Back 9 at the GOAT in Oceanside, CA.
Greens are amazing right now.
They are punching some of the fairways so hopefully they will drag and blow them.

I played Sunday with temps close to 50* but the wind was whipping. Felt like 20*. Today, I teed off at 9:30 with temp at 34* and sunny. Very comfy, no wind. No snow in site here.......so far. Hope everyone has a great 2019 season.

I tried to get a round going this past this weekend, unfortunately, the courses that were open near me were booked up.
Ice and snow are coming tonight, so got to postpone it again.
