So my game has been pretty good lately , couldn't miss a fairway nor green. Friday I couldn't buy a fairway shot. Hopefully Sunday is back to normal, what a rollercoaster.

Amen to that. For the last week the only way I can make a putt is to hold the ball over the hole and drop it in.

Agree, seems like its always something that isn't working. Crazy how a minor swing thought will make it "click" into place or just a day off will allow it to disappear. I think that's what i love best about golf, the never-ending challenge to produce the best shots i can produce.

I'm a 12 handicap, so I'm definitely a "go-low" kinda guy. I went through a phase last summer that I can only describe this way- If I was standing on a beach, and you said "tee it up, and hit your driver as far into the ocean as possible" I would've missed the damn water. But, with time, and some practice, I started hitting fairways again. No earth shattering "break-through" for me. Just kinda found my swing again.
  6. I have had the same problem this week, I'm blaming it on the cold weather! I think I spent more on golf balls this past friday than the round cost

Wait, hitting fairways and greens is NORMAL? (Insert wildly laughing emoji here.)
  11. A wonderful game with ups and downs but always we have a lofty goal ahead we are reaching for.
  12. As soon as we figure out this crazy game, something else changes. I wish that I could put everything together on the course, the way I put it together in my mind
  13. I know how you feel! Someday you are out there and everything is dialed in, others not so much! Good luck to you getting back to those fairways!
  14. It's screwy yet beautiful at the same time. We've all had good rounds, and hit amazing shots. Even on our worse days it's still in us, just a matter of finding it.

It’s a love hate relationship, we keep coming back to try and better ourselves!
It has to be the most frustrating sport I’ve ever played,
But just that one shot out the blue / screws longest drive, closest to the hole, etc,
brings us back day in day out wanting more.

    I feel your pain.
  17. Brings to mind the tv commercial where the group walks from the 18 hole to the car. The one guy "hates his clubs, sweater, and everything about the game", says he is giving it up, then when they are all in the car he says "same time tomorrow?"

When I’m missing fairways and greens I tell myself.... “I’m getting my money’s worth today by seeing more of the course”.

I'm 57 and been playing since I was ten. Grew up on a scruffy 9 hole city course that we played over and over every day we could. Now I finally graduated to a private club and it is wonderful.

In my 47 years I have concluded that each season, I am going to have a few great rounds, a few horrible rounds and most of my rounds are going to fall in a five stroke range between the great and horrible - and I have no control when it happens each year!!!
  20. Love reading the comments! I think we've all been there. I have a golf buddy that will throw little phrases out like "nice and easy", or "why are you swinging so hard?"... and that usually helps me slow down and let the club do the work.

I feel like I’m constantly tweaking my swing and trying to get better. Bad thing is I only realize what I did wrong after I hit my ball. This year I will be working on taking my time to be more consistent so I have less ups and downs I hope;) ha ha
