How many people out there see a video of their swing and shake their head with disappointment, no matter what the ball flight was? I think its interesting, the quest for a picture perfect swing that everyone says is beautiful or a maybe a swing that never gets quite to the top or too far inside etc., that produces quality golf shots! Where do you all fall?

    If it ain't broke....
Do what works for you. The worst thing to do on the course is to begin overthinking everything. Golf, while a very athletic endeavour, it doesn't require you to be fast, strong, higher, etc.. It's a skill of consistency, so it you are doing something that works, you shouldnt' be so concerned about the optics.

Swing your swing, repeat-ability is #1 for me. I'm never going pro, I only care what the result looks like.

Never saw my swing on video and no plans to do so. I've changed it over the years, but swing analysis for me has always been about ball flight, shot distance, and accuracy.

I love my swing and that is what I try to perfect is my swing. I have never seen it on video but have thought about it.

I look and see where I can improve my swing based on what is going on the course or range.

I can't swing like Michele W, Dustin or Brooks so I don't pay attention to their swings, and they can't swing like me either.. Lol

I have a swing guy and we work strictly on my swing thru feel, trial & error, as long as I start the backswing good. I usually get a good result. But if I don't start right all bets are off how the shot will go mainly with my driver, my iron swing is just fine we don't mess with it.

My swing coach doesn't even have try to make me swing like him & he out drives me by 25yds, but he never says here is what I do try this because he knows it's not my swing it's his.

I see no problem is seeing a PGA pro for a tweak now and then. I see many ugly swings that produce good results.
Moe Norman's swing wasn't a thing of beauty but the results were undeniable. I like my ugly swing.

Just started videoing a few swings a round, It is nice to see what your buddies are telling you. I'm finding that most of my offline shots are due to tempo problems. Being able to see your sing is helpful, but nothing beats time at the range.

We don't play pictures, we play golf. Golf has a score and that's all that should matter. It's not how it's how many!

Swing ya swing. No sense of trying to force something that will never happen and just end up making your game that more complicated. Like Chris from Oklahoma said "I only care what the result looks like."

I have a terrible swing, but it works for me. In my 60's so change is out of the question,I don't hurt with my swing. But good topic.

Would you rather have the perfect swing or Jim Furyk's results? No one on earth would teach a beginner to swing the way Furyk does but he has been successful with his imperfect swing.

Find and groove a swing that is repeatable every time under competitive conditions.

Most certainly swing your swing. Not that we all don't strive to get better. But we're not on tour. And even if we were, all of their swings aren't things of beauty!! Arnie said " swing your swing" and that's good enough for me!!

Matthew Wolff is doing well "Swinging his Swing"

Had he tried to achieve "the perfect golf swing" he might not be on scholarship at Oklahoma State, or headed toward a career of professional golf.

We don't have to draw pictures on the scorecard, just numbers! Swing your swing, there is more than 1 way to hit a golf ball. Sure there are swings that are absolutely gorgeous to watch, but do whatever move works for you. If it's repeatable and consistent, chances are you can score pretty well.

I like Tommy Fleetwood's thoughts on Ho Sung Choi's swing: twitter.com/.../1093298294330142720
  15. Swing your swing. Not every body type is the same (big belly for me) and I'm
not sure how much of that an instructor can take in to account. Not to mention
aches and pains. I'm 57 and every time I turn around there's a new body ache
    to compensate for.

Eric H, I changed my swing to a very unconventional swing. People tell me it looks like stack n tilt, but it's very different from it. Anyway, much like what we all want in a game, I think I'm a better golfer in what I do now than before.

I think when you're a kid or a teenager learning to play, then try for picture-perfect.

Once your swing is ingrained and you're older, swing your swing with minor adjustments from teaching pros. There's always room for improvement. My father is 75 years old, has shot his age about a half dozen times, and still takes lessons. But don't try to re-invent your swing - even at my age (50) my swing is pretty much my swing. I can slowly work on improvements but erasing 30 years of swing feel is not gonna happen.

Results are all that matters. I give you Lee Trevino, Arnold Palmer, Miller Barber, Moe Norman, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Walter Hagen and Ray Floyd. Would you teach any of those swings to anyone? Even Jack's right elbow flew out a bit and Jack Grout who instructed Nicklaus since childhood, never even suggested that he correct it. Swing your swing as long as it produces results.

Awww boy. I saw a video of my swing thinking it would look good because I hit it so well. Well I was shocked I tell you how awful it looked. I was use to watching Pros hit the ball on TV and thought somehow I was kind of close. But no! Just awful I tell you.

Never been a fan of swinging "by the book". It's the end product that counts for me. I've also never video'd my swing. I know what to change to change flight, video's would make me overthink.
  21. Swing your swing and do what works for you even if it looks like the craziest swing out there if it works don't mess with it make it your own look at Jim Furyk he has been swinging his own swing.
