Most of you will be off Monday celebrating with your families and enjoying a beautiful spring day. Some will even be out teeing up a Titleist golf ball. Each in you own way will be remembering what Monday is. A day to remember all those young men and women who may not have had the opportunity to enjoy this crazy but wonderful game that we so hold dear to our hearts, but they gave up their lives to make it possible in our free nation. Please take if only a moment to say thank you and a salute to them up above. Today is their day. This year is my high school 55th class reunion and many of my class of 1964 lost their lives in SE Asia, I am one of the blessed one, who is around to celebrate Veterans Day every year.
While both holidays are designed to honor U.S. troops that have served our country proud, there is an essential difference in the two as Memorial Day remembers those members of the military who lost their lives while serving their country. Meanwhile, Veterans Day is designed to commemorate all members of the military in the U.S., both living and deceased.
To all of my fallen comrades, I salute you.
