We are fortunate to be experiencing normal temperatures for this time of year. Up until a couple weeks ago we were a little below normal and cool at times. It helps that we are in the mountains and the elevation keeps it cool. An hour in any direction other than straight up and it is very hot. According to the weather station on my back deck we've yet to hit 80* this year at my house.

Been going out early, but it's been hot. Here at PGA GC, they give you bottles of water and ice before you go out so that you can keep hydrated as you go along and you can get more at the turn if needed. That said, I need to change gloves every 6 holes and look like I fell into a lake when I walk off the 18th green. This week I was only able to get in 9 holes twice due to thunderstorms at or right after I made the turn. This is Florida golf in the summer.

I'd like to try your heat in Florida. I'd have no problem playing real early. Beats not playing at all because of that white crap that comes for months up here in the Northeast and takes out our golf for way too long. Maybe I'd complain about the heat then instead of the cold, but I'd like to find out. Working at wearing my wife down. Depends on what happens in a few years as grandchildren appear, and where

Tom, I feel your pain. I spent 57 years in NY before moving to FL. I was an Ironworker and spent many a winter erecting steel on buildings in Manhattan. My wife was 100% for coming down here. When grandkids get older, they're running around doing their own thing. Hopefully, you'll make it down here at some point.

Indio/La Quinta area in California

I been playing in an oven also, I live in the Atlanta area. The temps are 90+ with 90% humidity. We start with a towel soaked in ice water and a hat dipped in ice water and play till dark. I sill love this game!!!

Hey Tom - best of luck on your quest! I too have a reluctant wife and 5 grandchildren that are the anchor. Love the kids, hate the NJ winters. When I complain my wife says " can't do anything about the weather". My answer is always that it is better to be able to come inside to cool off if needed as opposed to not being able to go outside at all for 3+ months.

Texas is hot (as usual) and humid after all the rain we’ve had.

Going into our third heat wave here at the Jersey Shore. It's better than teeing off when it's 28 degrees. My bent grass greens aren't liking it much though. Mix in the humidity, and the fungus goes wild. Been spraying 3 to 4 times a week. Better than freezing any day!

Ohio not much better rain most of June and when the calendar switched to July the heat and humidity cranked up

-I'd much rather play when it's cold out than stifling hot out ... without question. Heat & humidity and I don't get along very well. Probably why I haven't played in over a month.

Heat index in Charleston today, 110*. We play early in the am. Around 3 pm it is tough to handle. Temperatures are in the middle 90's and the humidity drives it upward. Drank six Yeti full of water. Thank goodness for my Titleist Aussie hats.

I was over in Florida in June, I have no idea how you guys play in such high tempratures, I have played there before but this was as hot as I have ever experienced, give me cloudy and overcast Scotland ......

Boy we are all different eh? I'd love to get to Scotland AND Ireland where my grandparents were all born. But me and cool, wet weather don't get along. Not a good "mudder"

At least I know I have sympathy here, and hope that when I grow up and can be just like you guys. 95+ these past few days up here, with the high humidity too. Played all 4 days early, rode, and stayed in the shade until my turn to play. Worked out OK. Men's League and Club Championship qualifying and had to be out there. Worst stroke give away I've ever had for League. Had to give 15 strokes in 9 holes! Had to shoot 35 to win. We have an outstanding crop of "kids" up and coming on the Club Championship, winning the last 5 years. 3 on NCAA scholarships, 2 more entering this fall. 74, 73 qualifying rounds to try to put a scare into them from and old fart. Yeah right! But playing good helps make the heat more tolerable. I think. Grin and bare all, It could always be worse.
