Aloha folks! We had the course to our selves and a good time was had by all! 7 out of 9 players showed up for this North Texas Team Titleist Get Together and to their surprise I had gift bags for each of them! It contained TT logo balls, TT lanyard, TT ball marker, TT divot tool, TT tees and a "I'd rather be driving a Titleist" bumper sticker!
It was a hot day with a slight breeze anywhere from half a club to a full club! The staff at Tour 18 were great and more than accommodating! Course was in good condition, greens were in great shape and fast and the bunkers were not that great so we played option (play it where it is if the bunker was good otherwise take it out and drop from point of entry). We went off with a threesome leading it off (all young bucks) and then a foursome with 1 young buck in our group. We had the course all to ourselves and it was lovely! We had a CP and LD contest the two holes were #9 (Sawgrass 17) and #18 (Augusta 13). Tony in the front group had the CP until our group got to #9. Keith hit a great shot to within 15 ft which I thought I could best that! My ball went up straight at the pin and the wind hit it a little right, landed on the slope and didn't spin as much as I wanted...Keith beat me by about a foot! He won a little cash and another sleeve of balls of his choosing! When it comes to LD...Tony outshined everyone with a monster drive over the trees leaving him less than 200 to the pin! Keith tried to best that but he must have clipped a branch or limb, we couldn't find his ball. Tony won a little cash and another sleeve of balls of his choosing also! At the end of the round we tallied up the scores, Keith and Tony won two skins each and I got one! A great time was had by all with new friendships made...all because we choose to play the number one brand in golf! I'm planning to have another get together next month and possibly an outing or another get together in Oct. Hoping to keep increasing the number of players each time as there is always a lot of "how come there isn't any TT events in or around Dallas". Hope to see more of you out there with us next month!
