I belong to the FB social media page for Titleist and I love the group. But lately I've been seeing posts with a lot of TT stuff saying thanking the TT person whom sent them the stuff. I have no problem, but what gets me is when people ask how can I get stuff from TT, the replys are all the same fill out your profile and someone will send you something. True, I recieved a hat over 4 years ago and that was it noting else from TT. So I asked you all, what does it take to still get some free stuff. Since my profile is 100% is it bcz I work at a golf course. What does a golf guy whoms been playing Titleist since I was 13 got to do too get something other then a hat.

Be happy you got a hat. Other then a bag tag, or some test balls, I'd guess over 90% of us have never got a surprise package with a hat, shirt, headcover, etc. Being part of the Titleist community isn't about getting free stuff. It's about having the chance to talk to other people that love Titleist products, and getting to chance to talk to people who work for Titleist and get some insight from them.

Bryan, most of us don't get free stuff. We do get stuff that is included in events. You can sign up for the bigger Team Titleist events and get a lot of cool stuff or even play in the occasional local golf outings where Titleist might provide a few minor "welcome gifts". You can also purchase stuff at the TT Store when touring Ball Plant #3. You can also purchase directly from here when those occasions allow for a few things to be listed. Everything else you see is the result of sweepstakes or random mail outs by the staff. You must remember, there are thousands of "registered TT members" in the system so Titleist doesn't have the capacity or budget to give away to more than what must be less than 5% of the registered population. I love sporting the TT logo but don't mind getting it through purchases I have made and attending the annual Team Titleist Invitational.

Just the act of saying "I want free stuff" is going to set a lot of folks off. Golf is inherently pricey from the jump, so getting swag is simply a bonus. Not to sound like a jerk, but TT didn't say if you sign up you're guaranteed free stuff. Show up to events of check Ebay, there's 'loyalists' that are always selling stuff they got for free.

Bryan, I'd like a TT hat to show up at my door too, but it's not about that for me. It's about the passion for golf, and all things Titleist, that is shared daily by like minded people within the TT community. The other day, someone posted a photo of an old Titleist Professional golf ball, probably from the late 90's. I played that ball as a younger man, so it stirred up some memories. Same thing with the new Scotty Terrilium putters. I have an original model from 1997. So when I hear how excited TT members are to own one, or roll putts with it for the first time, I know what they're talking about because I've been there.

It's not about the swag. It's much more than that. It's about sharing golf tips, stories, equipment questions and general commentary within a dedicated community of people who are just as passionate about golf and Titleist as you are.

If you are only here for free stuff you aren't here for the right reasons.

Be grateful you received anything at all.

  9. This is boring now, everyone is out to get something for free. The whole point of this Forum is to find out a wealth of information about all things Golf/Titleist related.

I'm happy to be a part of the community. There's a lot of knowledgeable people on here that know a great deal about the Titleist company and all things golf.

Just get involved, write some posts and see what people think.

Dale, Todd and Myself have been on this site for a long time and are very active as you can see by the number of posts we have made and attend the TT events. Most of my swag I have gotten at the events. Mike D sent out a post telling folks on this site how to sign up for a bag tag, nothing else. Things are really getting blown out of proportion on FB. I post on there but am not a real fan of it because it is not moderated like this site is. I personally feel it is not a good reflection of what Titleist stands for. Like most I enjoy the fellowship and the sharing on this site and if something comes my way, I really appreciate it, but DO NOT EXPECT IT. I am an Acushnet person myself, all Titleist equipment, bags, balls, hats, FJ shoes and apparel. With respect. If you work at a golf course I am sure you have contacts for products.

Take it from Chuck. See the number of posts he has. It's all about the discussions, the participation, the amount you do. No one expects anything, but it's nice when something shows up. Put yourself in the position of a moderator of a sight like this..........please take no offense, but who you going to send a thank you too once and a while......the guy with hundreds of posts, whose been around participating at least weekly if not daily, or someone who has a couple dozen? Again no offense, please, but it's like playing in our group. If you have to ask if a putt is good, then you already know the answer. Keep up active, very active participation, and have all your profile completed and update it when it changes.

  13. I was more then happy just having the chance to actually pay for a TT hat.
Been wanting one for a while and I usually miss it so I pumped to have my TT that i paid for!
The TT sticker that came with the order made me so happy. like a eagle on a par 5
  14. I hate seeing people ask for free stuff. So you spend a few thousand dollars on clubs, ball and miscellaneous equipment. Heck, you may spend $10,000+ dollars on equipment because you like the latest and greatest, and yet expect something free.

When you purchased your last your automobile, did you get anything for free (maybe an oil change)? I'm sure you spent a lot more in one purchase then all of your golf purchases. But you would go out and buy that blue oval hat to support Ford.

If you got a hat, then be happy. A company that owes you nothing gave you something for free. And they even paid for postage to get it to you.
  15. Thread title said "Headcovers".

I was hoping it was a thread announcing they were bringing back the "socks".

Drives me nuts when people expect to get things just because they sign up! I signed up for the passion of the sport and for the brand. I've purchased TT items when available because I support the brand. I also play a full bag because I trust the brand, I'm getting ready to revamp my set and believe me it will still be Titleist! I don't expect anything from Titleist or Team Titleist and if I do get something I'm more than happy and 100% appreciative! This is not a place for free stuff/swag or whatever you want to call it! It's a place for people to get together and share, trade and converse about a couple of common interests, golf and the Titleist brand...also possibly get together and play with others from the group. It's a blast! I can't wait to get the chance to attend a TT Invitational and have that experience. Anything aside from the experience is a total bonus! One day, I will...be there! Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed week! Aloha!
