I'm interested to know if anyone uses an app when practicing on the driving range to check the distance markers are what they say they are, therfore giving you a more accurate distance for your irons. Something like a laser rangefinder does.

I dont know how an app will do that on a range but I do use a range finder and I find it to work really well..

  4. Richard, I think you answered your own question. I use my range finder to measure the distance to the flags/greens when available.

We have a range here in Michigan (Carl's in Bloomfield) that has Trackman Range. It's a simple app - connect to the network and tell it what hitting bay you are in. It gives carry, total, ball speed, launch angle and height. It's a little bit of a hike for me so I don't go often. They do have heaters for winter golf as well.

Another thumbs up for Carls Golfland's Trackman Range set up. The Trackman Range App is a pretty useful tool. They are also installing it at their Plymouth MI location.

I spend more time on the course than on the range. Benefit of being retired. Love my bushnell rangefinder. Go to range when am having issues and work them out with instructor. Normally quick fix. Living on the coast of SC we are fortunate to be able to play most of the year. Course only closes when it rains and when temps are below freezing. Being at sea level flooding is a big issue when it rains. Our course is undergoing major renovation in January to resolve tidal flooding with new greens. YAHOO..... Now we can play during the hurricanes. Just kidding. =)

I've not seen or heard of an app used as a launch monitors if that's what you mean. However, from time to time I'm able to use a trackman for a very limited time. Launch monitors are a great tool for a practice session with some related work.

My local course uses a rangefinder and posts the distances on a display board. Makes it easier for us.

Nope. I just use my Bushnell.
Our range is supposed to be getting the TopTracer bays soon, anyone else’s already had it installed? Thoughts?
