This is the only place I can talk about or post about this as I know the community will get it...my golfing circle is like what's the problem you play just fine.
I have been to 4 wonderful swing coaches over 2 years. I have learned some great things. I went to all of them for better ball striking with irons. I sweep when I it my irons, I don't have a steep hit ball first swing never have. I do play my irons well but I know they could be better. I hit some thick shots & on different turfs & softness I struggle at times hitting a clean shot.
All of these coaches wanted & tried to teach me to hit the ball first. Some tried to get me to swing like professionals do (Golftec) All said my rotation was spot on, small issue with left arm extension in back swing.
But after paying 100's of dollars (considerable amount more than that) I am still not able to impact ball first then ground. Divots are something I never took even in high school golf when hitting my irons, so at 56yrs of age my only assumption is to just live with the fact that I have a shallow swing at impact and hope I don't hit too far behind the ball at times.
We all played with ball position, head position. We had video, swing harness to analyze every aspect of the body & swing. I am very thankful for what each coach tried to do. I think I just need to get it out my head and move on is what I'm thinking now..... Lol
Only 1 tried to re-invent my swing from the ground up, we didn't last long together. I've jumped from a 13-18 Hdcp over the last 3 years so I got concerned as I dropped in GIR's to 22% from 34%. Thank goodness for my short game.....
Now on to driver......Have a good day, week & round of golf everyone.
